Update below.
I just ran across a sub-site of C-Span I hadn’t known about. At the moment there is a live-feed from the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings in which former Deputy Attorney General Comey is answering questions of Chuck Schumer. The testimony involves the day in which Attorney General Ashcroft was hospitalized and Comer arrived on the scene just in time to prevent White House Council Alberto Gonzales from trying to get the weakened and semi-comatose Ashcroft to sign off on parts of the warrentless wiretapping program which Comey, as the acting Attorney General, had refused to sign.
Here’s a Firedoglake summary of that event.
Here’s the link the Judiciary Committee feed. [Click on “Webcast.”]
[I’m assuming it’s a C-Span service, though the feed is directly from the Judiciary Committee. Even more interesting is http://www.capitolhearings.org where many (all?) hearings in Congress, today, are listed.]
Update: EmptyWheel at Firedoglake.com has been live-blogging the hearings. You can catch up with some of the testimony and his views, here.
